Job Opportunities at Berle Farm
Vegetable field work 2026. Berle Farm is hiring for six weeks of summer farming. If you have an interest in growing vegetables and being with plants, this could be a great summer job for you. Planting, weeding, harvesting, planning and displaying the food for sale at the farm store are the tasks at hand. We grow food for our CSA members as well.
Weather is the commanding force of what to do. The work is physical, forward-moving and satisfying. It is an opportunity to be on land in open air and interact with the environment. We have great processing areas where vegetables are washed and prepared for display. We get creative with all that we do. Cut flowers and flower arrangements are an optional part of the work.
Although the positions we are hiring for this year are vegetable-oriented, Berle Farm is diversified with dairy, raw milk, cheese, yogurt, beef, maple syrup, apples, hay, and grains. Learning opportunities for the curious abound. People who are hired for vegetable work often get involved with pasturing and haymaking. We are a team and share work. Field hours can be supplemented with retail work, art, marketing and product development.
In 2026, our new product plans include a soup mix made of dried vegetables (we have a dehydrator) and a cracker baked with our farm-grown wheat. We are also growing hot peppers for a new hot sauce.
The six-week work periods are as follows:
5/1 to 6/19 - Planting, planning, harvesting and weeding. Spring optimism and the start of subscription baskets!
7/1 – 8/20 - Food, harvesting, display and community!
9/1 - 10/20 Apples! Harvesting and preparing winter storage vegetables.
Limited housing is available but is in high demand, so appy early.
Positions are also available for people with local housing.
Sometimes folks fall in love with the farm and want to return or stay for years; if and when this happens, arrangements evolve.
